Back from Oxford!

Hey guys! As some of you may have guessed, I'm back from Oxford. We had such a great time even if it was a little on the short side. Meeting Alex AKA Ice-11 was super cool after knowing him for years! A really lovely guy that was a pleasure to be around. Oh and what a great tour guide he was ;P

So what did we get up to? The train ride itself to Oxford was just fine, although I must confess to being pretty ticked off after both reservations on two trains had people sitting in our seats :| We checked in, had a little freshen up and then met Alex in the city centre, where coffee was had (not me, I had water. What a rebel I am), some sight seeing in very rainy weather and climbed to the top of the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin and took in same amazing architectural views. Had a nice drink, afterwards had a yumcious dinner and then spent the evening outside having a few more drinks in a pub with foundations dating back to 14th century. Lovely pub and night spent with great company.

Woke up on Thursday morning and wow, the weather decided to be extra nice to us with lots of displays of sunshine :D Headed back into the city centre to do some more sight seeing, taken the opportunity to actually get some snapshots of Oxford in better conditions whilst waiting to meet up with Alex again. More coffee, lunch, picture taking, sight seeing and talking then a rather relaxing time sitting down by the water with more talking and silliness :P The day seemed to go by really fast and before we knew it, it was time to head off to the train station. A totally better seat reservation experience on the way back and oh my God, saw the most awesome sun rays while the sun was setting over the lovely scenery. Damn, I wanted to take photos!

So yes, a rather awesome time indeed. Thanks Alex for such a nice time! Oh and here are some photos from the trip just in case anyone is curious to see.

TheBuddyBench happen to be holding a pretty cool CSS contest! Wondering what they're all about?

TheBuddyBench pairs new deviants up with our dedicated, more experienced Buddies who look after them for a month and answer any questions they have. After the time has elapsed, they are released into the deviantART community and hopefully have gained a new friend in the process.

Check our their News Article how the contest works and the sweet prizes to be won :D

168 hours is a feature every week, focussing on photos that (in my opinion) deserve more attention than they have received.

Community love & helpful links

A good guide on how to go about promoting/featuring other artist's work.

If you're keen to help out and get involved within the community then this is a must read.

If you've ever wanted to be a volunteer on dA then you should check out this article.

Quite often there are deviations that simply have no comments even if they're rather good. Take a moment out and send a comment their way. They deserve it!

Make a difference on dA and "become the change".
