So I'm back online and to my usual devious self :D I hadn't been around too much until about yesterday mainly because roughly a week before that I had very restricted internet access. Now when I say restricted, I mean in the way of having internet that felt WORSE than dialup. Everything was fine and I was getting my usual 6Mbit connection, then one evening everything painfully slowed down. 5 kbps is, to say the least, horrid. Spent a whole week with several phone calls every day and two engineer visits to finally utter the words "Do you have a complaints department?" and magically two hours later the problem is solved. Seriously, dealing with BT when you have issues, getting told one thing by one person, something else by another, promises of this and that... shocking. And no, Virgin Media are no better. I should know! RAH! So yeah, back now lol.
Recently Kym AKA EpharGy headed down to Plymouth (he's in the UK visiting from Australia) to meet up with Nyssa and I. We spent almost a week hanging out and what a time we had lol. We ate dinner out a lot, drank a fair bit (poor Nyssa ended up out of it and totally ill the next day lol), spent a day in Newquay, hit the cinema, totally tried to find some clubs playing trance and failed and soooo much more. I have to say thanks to Kym for everything. What a cool and seriously generous guy. He wouldn't let us pay for hardly anything and I feel so bad about that D:. So have to catch up with him in Australia next time!
I had my first shot while out with Kym and Nys! I also tried kangaroo meat for the first time :o No I didn't hop over to Australia for a few... we were at an Australian bar :P
Yep, we're planning a Cornish devMEET over at cornwall so if you're Cornish or even if you're not but fancy going, check out Cornwall devMEET for the following details!
helping-the-unknown is a project designed specifically to give new and underappreciated talented artists the recognition they deserve.
helping-the-unknown posts biweekly news articles (Wednesday and Sunday) featuring four pieces of work from five deviants. Work featured includes:
- Photography
- Photomanipulations
- Traditional Media
- Digital Media
- Literature
TheBuddyBench happen to be holding a pretty cool CSS contest! Wondering what they're all about?
TheBuddyBench pairs new deviants up with our dedicated, more experienced Buddies who look after them for a month and answer any questions they have. After the time has elapsed, they are released into the deviantART community and hopefully have gained a new friend in the process.
Check our their News Article how the contest works and the sweet prizes to be won :D
168 hours is a feature every week, focussing on photos that (in my opinion) deserve more attention than they have received.
If you're looking to get your art noticed more or perhaps wondering why you don't seem to get many comments, favs or watches then check out this journal entry.
A good guide on how to go about promoting/featuring other artist's work.
If you're keen to help out and get involved within the community then this is a must read.
If you've ever wanted to be a volunteer on dA then you should check out this article.
Quite often there are deviations that simply have no comments even if they're rather good. Take a moment out and send a comment their way. They deserve it!
